Ils ont des armoires pleines de bouteilles, d'étoffes, de vieux vêtements, de journaux; ils ont tout gardé. Le passé, c'est un luxe de propriétaire. Ou donc conserverais-je le mien? On ne met pas son passé dans sa poche; il faut avoir une maison pour l'y ranger. Je ne possède que mon corps; un homme tout seul, avec son seul corps, ne peut pas arrêter les souvenirs; ils lui passent au travers. Je ne devrais pas me plaindre: je n'ai voulu qu'être libre."

Считая себя "of an open mind / d’esprit ouvert", она приезжает в Иерусалим, полная преконцепций и полученных идей. Короче, приезжает такая Парижская девочка в Израиль и давай восхищаться местной "клюквой", а также всех поучать. Такая вот Жертва Западной культуры и Русской Литературы... По-западному "качает права" там, где надо сесть и за стаканом кофе "боц" уладить все по-дружески... Восток - дело тонкое… На самом деле, эта книга (в неи 54 страницы) о том, что кроме Запада, есть еще целый огромный мир, который имеет свою культуру и историю. Западный мир почему-то считает себя вправе насаждать повсюду свою версию демократии, равноправия полов. При этом, даже не утруждая себя выучить другой язык кроме Английского.
